I ride my fixed gear bicycle at a leisurely pace between Brooklyn and Manhattan. I do ashtanga yoga almost every morning. I am a professional medical writer with romantic ideals and a fiction habit. My work has been short listed for the O. Henry Prize. I enjoy cooking vegetables. I am not afraid of carrots, kale, or cucumbers, but I am a bit suspicious of quorn.
I get up at 5am most mornings. I don't have a TV, although I watch a lot of shows on Hulu and Youtube. I grew up in a very small, idyllic upstate town on a lake.
I have lived in Paris and backpacked in Mexico and Venezuela. On my current wish list of trips are Nepal, Baltimore, Darjeeling, Mysore, and East Bushwick. It is more fun to travel with company of course.
My Ideal Person:
I get along with almost everyone, but in a romantic partner I am looking for connection and genuine rapport. We don't have to agree about everything, but it should be fun to disagree. I like smart, sporty, articulate women. Ideally, I am looking for someone who shares at least a few of my interests and pastimes, including contemporary fiction, doing yoga more than once or twice a week, cooking and eating vegetables, watching movies and documentaries, biking around the city, walking and hiking, healthy living, photography, going to museums, and discovering new and old music.
The last great book I read A few recent reads and longtime favorites include: Kolyma Tales, Varlam Shalamov; Requiem for a Dream, Hubert Selby Jr.; Fun Home, Alison Bechdel; Mason & Dixon, Thomas Pynchon; My Guru and His Disciple, Christopher Isherwood
The best or worst lie I've ever told I don't lie. I spin.
If I could be anywhere right now On a mountaintop or admiring a seascape.
Five items I can't live without Freshly ground pepper, non-iodized salt, olive oil, garlic, friends, fresh air.
